Pseudopallene zamboangae Stock, 1953b: 297 — Stock, 1954b: 61 — Utinomi, 1971: 323

Material examined. Holotype NMNH 93553. 1 male. Pacific Ocean, Philippines Islands; Mindanao I., off Zamboanga Light. 06° 54' 00"N. 122° 04' 30"E. 9 fms depth. Albatross stn 5595, 0 6 Oct 1909, det. J. H. Stock.

Remarks. This attenuated species does not belong to Pseudopallene on account of its general habitus, the absence of palp buds and lanceolate oviger spines. The combination of widely spaced lateral processes and body spination also distinguish this species from Cordylochele and Meridionale . The species is further distinguished from Meridionale by the shape of the oviger claw and from Cordychele by the non-globose chelae palms. The long, distally lance-shaped oviger spines have affinity with Parapallene algoae Barnard, 1946 and P. longipes Calman, 1938 .

Distribution. Philippines (Sulu Sea); Indonesia (Java Sea); Nagasaki-ken, Japan; Darwin, Australia (unpublished).
