Examined material: Iran: 5 ♂♂, 4 ♀♀, Khuzestan, Mahshar , 9.v.2006; Muilwijk leg. Confirmed by E. Kirschenhofer. CJM ; 1 ♂, 3 ♀♀, Khuzestan, lake Iseh , 1.iv.2007; Muilwijk leg., CJM, CDW ; 1 ♂, Busher, Dorahak vill. env., 10 m, 26.iii.2018, I. Pljushtch leg., CDW .

Remark. A species of green-bluish lustre, appendages light; body narrow and elongate, with dense punctation. Antennae pubescent from antennomere 2. Antennomere 3 longer than 4. Tarsi pubescent dorsally. Easy to separate from the two other Iranian species of the subgenus Trichochlaenius Seidlitz, 1887 : C. gotschii Chaudoir, 1846 , which has a bluish upperside and dark legs and antennae and C. aeneocephalus aeneocephalus Dejean, 1826 which has a shiny golden head.

Distribution. Iran and Syria.
