Type species: Rondostreptus kiellandi , new species

Name: The name of the type locality + the combining element “ -streptus”

Diagnosis. The type species is characterized by the singular metazonal depressions and large number of striations between ozopores and sterna, by the coarsely rugopunctate margin of the hypoproct, and by features of the gonopods such as modified proplical apex and formation of the torsal region.

Remarks. While no single character per se justifies the establishment of a generic taxon, the various components taken collectively reflect a very disjunct entity, one not to be accommodated in any of the established genera of this family. Perhaps related forms occur in northern Mozambique.

The distinctive metazonal ornamentation of R. kiellandi is to some extent approximated in Haplogonopus inflatannulus Verhoeff (1941) , endemic to the Uluguru Mountains in Tanzania. The lack of any correspondence in other taxonomic systems, however, negates the liklihood of any degree of close relationship between these two species.
