Subgenus CHIROSTILBIA Enderlein
CHIROSTILBIA Enderlein, 1921a: 199 (as genus). Type species: Simulium pertinax Kollar View in CoL (as C. flavifemur Enderlein ; synonymised with S. pertinax Kollar View in CoL by Lane & Porto, 1939:170) (original designation).
This subgenus now contains 13 valid species, all of which occur in Brazil.
