Diagnosis
Body long, cylindrical, hyaline. Prostomium relatively small, ciliated, with frontal pigmentation; eyes present or absent. Pharynx with two long, falcate mandibles. First two pairs of segments fused, with single pair of small tentacular cirri, second segment with setae. Segments 2–10 with reduced parapodia; remaining parapodia with ovoid dorsal and ventral cirri, and large conical setal lobes. All setae compound spinigers. Body segments 30–60. All species with chromatophores at bases of parapodia. Pygidium rounded.
