Taxonomy and systematics.
H. Aspöck et al. (1991), Haring et al. (2011). Systematic position within the family not yet definitely resolved, however, see Shen et al. (2022). It comprises two subgenera, Fibla s. str. (with 3 species) and Reisserella (with 1 species). Both subgenera are represented on Mediterranean islands.
Biology and ecology.
Larvae are exclusively corticolous on various trees. Development at least two, usually Subilla three (or more) years. Last hibernating stage: full-grown larva. Adults: IV-VII.
Distribution.
Iberian Peninsula, Tyrrhenic islands, Sicily, Apennine Peninsula (sporadically), Crete, N-Africa.
