Type species: Toccolosida rubriceps Walker, 1863 , by monotypy.
Distribution: [North East India]: Sikhim [Sikkim], Khásis [Meghalaya], Nágas [Nagaland], Mizoram; Bhután [ Bhutan]; Borneo ( Hampson 1896; Singh & Ranjan 2015); Burma [ Myanmar], Nepal, Thailand, China (Yunnan), Taiwan, Vietnam, West Malaysia, Sumatra, Java, Brunei, Sabah, Sarawak ( Robinson et al. 1994).
Diagnostic characters: The species of Toccolosida Walker are medium to large sized (wing expanse 30 mm to 50 mm). Males have a tuft of long hair arising from beneath the patagia. Forewings with termen angled at middle. Male geni- talia with uncus inverted U shape, broadest at middle; gnathos with both the arms joined at distal half, forming a shape of dagger; tegumen very broad; valvae tongue shaped.
