Pseudopomyzella Hennig View in CoL

According to McAlpine (1996) and Buck & McAlpine (2010), Pseudopomyzella is characterized by the presence of four fronto-orbital setae, well developed and medially inclined setulae near the middle of frons, four postsutural dorsocentral setae, three well developed acrostichal rows of setulae on the anterior half of the scutum, a developed anterior intra-alar seta, one well developed and several setulae on the anepisternum posteriorly, a katepisternal seta that is strongly curved anteriorly, and a very small cell cup.

Geographical distribution. Neotropical: Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela.
