Generitype of Datura Linnaeus (vide Hitchcock, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 132. 1929).

Current name: Datura stramonium L. View in CoL ( Solanaceae ).

Note: Schönbeck-Temesy (in Rechinger, Fl. Iranica 100: 45. 1972) indicated 243.1 (LINN) as type, but this is a post-1753 addition to the herbarium and not original material. See detailed discussion by Hadkins & al. (in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 125: 296-298. 1998), including an illustration of the lectotype (as f. 2).
