Holotype: ♂. Chile, Arica, Qda. de Azapa , 22-26/VII/1987. A second label reads: Coll . SAGI ( MNNC) . Paratypes:Twospecimens from the same locality as the holotype ( MNNC, 1; UMCE, 1).
Diagnosis: The presence of 7 knobs on the disc of the pronotum will distinguish this species from S. dilatus.
Description: This species was adequately described and illustrated by SOLERVICENS (2003: 45). Additional characteristics involve: Antenna as in Fig. 18 View Figs 1-27 , pronotum as in Fig. 44 View Figs 44-56 , elytral asetiferous punctures striate, epipleural margin serrulate near elytral apex, and habitus in Fig. 95. View Figs 90-96
Distribution ( Fig.71 View Fig 71 ): Known only from Chile.
