Holotype (male): MEXICO, NAYARIT

Diagnosis. Telegeusis glessum and T. sonorensis are similar in color. T. glessum may be distinguished from T. sonorensis by the longer elytra, eyes and interocular distance and the area between the eyes and pronotum. Telegeusis glessum is also related to T. chamelensis Zaragoza , which may be distinguish by size; T. glessum may reach a length of 5.98 and a width of 1.00; while T. chamelensis may reach a length of 4.12, and a width of 0.72.

Description. Size. Length 5.34; width 0.92. Color. Yellow-amber, tibiae, tarsi and terminal part of elytra darker, apical palpomeres black. Head. ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 6 – 10 ) with a median hump; at eye level as wide (0.96) as long, slightly wider than pronotum (0.88). Interocular area convex, distance between eyes and pronotum 1.5 times length of eye. Integument shiny, chagrined, sparsely punctured, with long, yellow, thin setae that are longer behind the eyes. Antenniferous tubercles slightly pronounced. Interantennal area (0.40) a little more than 1.5 times length of scape. Eyes small, longer (0.24) than wide (0.12); interocular distance wide (0.72), 6.0 times width of eye. Forehead sloping, concave; anterior margin concave. Labrum sinuate, with a slightly marked median prominence. Thorax. Pronotum ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 6 – 10 ) wider (0.88) than long (0.64), slightly narrowed posteriorly; width 0.96 times length of head; anterior margin straight, posterior margin convex; sides cleft at middle; disc bright, slightly convex; integument chagrined, with sparse, tiny punctures, each with a yellow seta. Scutellum shiny, chagrined, setose, posterior margin truncate. Elytra ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 11 – 15 ) nearly four times as long as wide, narrowed towards apex; posterior margin rounded; integument shiny, chagrined and punctate, each puncture with an imbricate, yellow seta; more coarsely punctuate apically. Membranous wings 2.5 times longer than wide ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 16 – 20 ), posterior radial vein ( RP) jointed to posterior median vein. Abdomen. Brilliant, integument chagrined, tiny punctures with imbricate, yellow setae. Female unknown.

Variation. The species varies from 4.38 to 5.98 in length, and some specimens are colored a bit clearer.
