“Habitat in India.” RCN: 4340.

Lectotype (Scott & Harley in Bosser & al., Fl. Mascareignes 139: 24. 1994; Paton & Cafferty in Kew Bull. 53: 466. 1998): Herb. Linn. No. 749.15, right specimen (LINN).

Current name: Basilicum polystachyon (L.) Moench ( Lamiaceae ).

Note: Generic name spelled “Ocymum” in the protologue. Scott & Harley appear to have made the earliest choice; this was subsequently restricted to the specimen on the right of the sheet by Paton & Cafferty.
