Body length 28.6–36.4 mm (♂); 24.0– 28.2 mm (♀).

Description. Major male. Body brownish to black, body surface weakly metallic; head (including widest region of mandibular bases) subequal in width to pronotum and elytra. Head brownish, surface covered with vestiture of long, yellowish-amber setae; mandibles strongly incurved at apical 1/3, straight along midlength and basal; major inner mandibular tooth located approximately 1/3 distance from base, single-pointed with not inflated on either side, <3 small inner mandibular teeth located above major mandibular tooth; apical mandibular fork weakly developed to absent; anterolateral ridges of head slightly rounded, posterolateral margin of head convex at, slightly wider than anterolateral ridges and forming blunt angles; clypeolabrum poorly developed, stout, labrum triangular, weakly protruding along midlength. Thorax brownish with metallic luster, surface punctate, poorly convex at apex and base, strongly protruding at middle; 0.95× width of head and mandibles; prothoracic tibiae reddish and slender, each bearing>5 small but well-developed spines from apex to base; mesothoracic tibiae bright reddish, each bearing two spines at middle; metathoracic tibiae reddish, each bearing a single poorly developed spine at basal 1/3. Elytra reddish to brownish, color usually brighter than head and pronotum, surface smooth, without visible setae; strongly metallic; slender, widest at apical 1/3, narrow at basal 1/3. Median male as major male. Minor male as major male. Genitalia. Ventral plate of 9th abdominal segment not constricted before caudal expansion; basal piece short, 0.3–0.35× length of entire aedeagus; apical flagellum weakly enlarged, flagellum 0.45× length of entire aedeagus; aedeagus stout, incurved at basal 1/3, triangular distally.

Female. Body brownish to black, surface metallic, slender, usually subequal in length with male. Head black; surface densely punctate; mandible strongly incurved at middle and apical 1/3; mandibular tooth well developed, asymmetrical; right mandibular tooth triangular, that of left mandibular smooth and convex along midlength; preocular and postocular margins well developed, forming acute angle, protruding anteriorly; clypeolabrum poorly developed, single-pointed at middle. Thorax black, weakly metallic; obscurely but densely punctate; anterior pronotum well enlarged, forming blunt angles,1.1× width of posterolateral pronotum; prothoracic tibiae black, each bearing five spines from apex to midlength; distal two spines sharp, strongly developed; prothoracic tibiae 1.4× width of mesothoracic and metathoracic tibiae; mesothoracic tibiae black, each bearing two spines at midlength; metathoracic tibiae black, each bearing two spines at basal 1/3. Elytra black and metallic; stout, widest at apical 1/3, strongly narrow at basal 1/3.

Distribution. China (Taiwan).
