Urothoe orientalis Gurjanova, 1951 View in CoL

Urothoe orientalis Gurjanova, 1951: 354–356 View in CoL , figs 211a, b; 1962: 428; Imbach 1967: 77–78, pl. 18.

Material examined

Long Kei Wan, control site Z, 25 female and 11 juvenile specimens, NHM Reg. Nos. 2005.2781–2790.

Remarks

Urothoe orientalis View in CoL is characterised by the acute ventral cephalic projection, the basis of pereopod 5 having an acute posterodistal corner (female) and a spine-free pereopod 5 dactyl. Imbach (1967) noted differences between her species and that of Gurjanova (1951) in the presence of spines on the outer ramus of uropods 1 and 2 on the Vietnam specimens. These differences are not seen in the Hong Kong material.
