Material. Solomon Islands: 13 (MNHN-IU-2007-4736), station CP2246, 7°42.6’S 156°24.6’E, XI 2004, depth 664–682 m, Solomon Island. 1 specimen (MNHN-IU-2007-4737), station CP2268, 07°48.7’S 156°53.3’E, XI 2004, depth 632–640 m, Vella Gulf. Both Bouchet, Warén & Samedi-IRD coll.

Remarks. Bathypallenopsis paramollis , a member of Stock’s (1974) ‘ mollissima -group’ and the type-species of Bathypallenopsis , is another rarely-recorded species, known previously from Japan, Indonesia and Mozambique in a depth range of 699 to 1600 m. The present records are from slightly shallower water.
