= bicoloratus Abeille de Perrin, 1894 syn. nov.

Taxonomy. The name bicoloratus was proposed for a variety of A. angustulus and afterwards treated either as subspecific or infrasubspecific North African taxon recognizable just by the bicolored dorsal side. The examination of the recent extensive material revealed that despite the prevalence of unicolored forms in Eurasia and bicolored ones in Africa, both forms occur across the whole geographical range of A. angustulus .

Remarks. Some published but unsupported or implausible records where omitted from the distribution.

Particularly, Egypt (Kerremans 1908: 109) and Abessynia [= Ethiopia] (Obenberger 1931: 127 (as subspecies bicoloratus )). The species was recorded from the single record from Russia (Primorye) by Jendek & Grebennikov (2011: 236) and by Jendek (2016: 236). The possible introduction of the species to East Palaearct should be reconfirmed by additional findings for excluding mislabeling of the specimen in question. See also remarks at A. graminis .
