Family Agoristenidae View in CoL

Type name: Micrisaeus gracillimus Roewer, 1957 .

Specimen examined: Holotype SMF 9911421 View Materials - RII/11421-4 ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 ), from PERU, Ucayali, Rio San Alejandro. Actions: New allocation to family Agoristenidae .

Remark (I): Roewer (1957) originally described this genus and species as a member of Phalangodidae : Phalangodinae, but it was later removed to Grassatores incertae sedis by Kury (2003). Herein we propose the new transfer of this species from Grassatores incertae sedis to the family Agoristenidae (Gonyleptoidea) . The habitus and the characteristically thinner leg I relative to all other legs ( Fig. 7A View FIGURE 7 ) (see Šilhavý 1973 for further morphological characteristics) leave no doubts about the family transference.

The visit to the SMF harvestmen collection yielded some important incidental observations that allowed us to propose two family transfers, determine the correct sex for six types, and designate one lectotype. We encourage other colleagues to publish their incidental observations as correspondences or short notes, to avoid the possibility that they will remain forever as unpublished data .
