Recorded from England and Ireland by Walker (1835). A doubtful record from England by Barnes (1932). Recorded as S. muticum (Nees, 1834) from England by Notton (2008), from Ireland by Buhl and O’Connor (2008) and from the Isle of Man by Buhl and Bennett (2009). According to the short original description and to Thomson’s (1859) amendment, S. muticum is similar to S. sosis , but Graham (1988) indicates that the lectotype of S. muticum (only legs and metasoma left) could be a Platygaster , so the identity of Nees’ species remains doubtful.
