Recorded from England by Walker (1835). Addition to Vlug’s (1985) description: mesopleuron smooth medially and in upper two-thirds anteriorly. This species differs from the similar I. trochanteratus Th. in having slightly more slender and lighter coloured antennae, and in having mid lobe of mesoscutum pointed posteriorly (blunt in I. trochanteratus ).
