Recorded from England, Scotland and Ireland by Walker (1835), and from the Isle of Man by Buhl and Bennett (2009). Platygaster lativentris Thomson, 1859 was synonymized with P. lysicles by Buhl (2006) but P. lativentris has smoother basal foveae and darker legs than P. lysicles . Rearing might clarify if this is intraspecific variation.
