Type material: Holotype: male ( IZCAS), Tiexirongdong Cave , Siliqiao Bridge , Wuyang Town, Zhenyuan County [27°04´N, 108°27´E, Guizhou, China], 26 May 2006, Y.C. Lin and Z.F. Yang leg. GoogleMaps Paratypes: 6 males and 10 females, same data as holotype ( IZCAS) GoogleMaps .

Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin words “ grandis ” (= large) and “ spina ” (= thorn, spine), in reference to the presence of a strong spur on retrolateral middle of the pedipalpal tibia.

Diagnosis. The presence of an extra-large spur in the middle of pedipalpal tibia, the median apophysis split into four spicula, and the nearly semicircular atrium are distinguished from all the other congeners.

Description. Holotype male. Total length 1.78. Dorsal shield of prosoma 0.81 long, 0.70 wide. Sternum 0.60 long, 0.57 wide. Opisthosoma 1.05 long, 0.76 wide. Dorsal shield of prosoma yellow, two long setae on anterolateral area of PME. Thoracic median groove brown, needle-shaped, a mane located at center. Cervical groove and radial furrows distinct, pale brown. Clypeus 0.21 high, slightly sloped anteriorly, with short setae along anterior margin. Six eyes ovoid, with black bases. Eye sizes: ALE 0.07, PLE 0.07, PME 0.05; ALE- ALE 0.02, ALE-PME 0.13, PLE-PLE 0.12, PLE-PME 0.06; AER 0.13, PER 0.22. Major axes of PLE convergent. PMEs adjacent, their median axes parallel. Chelicerae yellow brown, slightly longer than endites, fang furrow with 9 promarginal and 5 retromarginal teeth. Endites, labium and legs yellow, sternum pale brown. Leg measurements: I 6.80 (1.83, 0.29, 2.16, 1.63, 0.89); II 5.02 (1.44, 0.27, 1.48, 1.13, 0.70); III 4.05 (1.15, 0.24, 1.08, 1.00, 0.58); IV 5.79 (1.64, 0.26, 1.77, 1.40, 0.72). Leg formula: I-IV-II-III. Several setae in the middle of femur I prolaterally. Each patella distally with a dorsal spine. All tibiae spineless, only 3 trichobothria. A row of slender hairs at tibia I and II retrolaterally. Metatarsi II and III with a finely serrated hairs-comb respectively. Opisthosoma pale yellow, ovoid, covered with sparse hairs, without modified pigment.

Pedipalpal femur spineless. A dorsal spine on patella distally. Three trichobothria, 4 long spines and 6 short spurs modified pedipalpal tibia, the largest spur II located at the middle of tibia retrolaterally, the paired thin spurs V and VI flexural on tibia distally. Tarsus no wrinkled at middle, earlobe-shaped process small, 6 long spines on tarsus distally. Pedipalpal bulb ovoid and smooth. Horn-shaped embolus sclerotized weakly. Conductor small triangle. Median apophysis divided into four sharp spicula, sclerotized obviously.

Female. Similar to male in coloration and general features, but body size larger and legs shorter. Total length 2.05. Prosoma 0.92 long, 0.84 wide. Sternum 0.65 long, 0.63 wide. Opisthosoma 1.10 long, 0.91 wide. Clypeus 0.19 high. Six eyes. Eye sizes: ALE 0.06, PLE 0.06, PME 0.05; ALE-ALE 0.02, ALE-PME 0.15, PLE-PLE 0.13, PLE-PME 0.06; AER 0.15, PER 0.21. Chelicerae yellow brown, fang furrow with 9 promarginal and 5 retromarginal teeth. Endites and labium pale brown, sternum and legs yellow. Leg measurements: I 5.25(1.40, 0.25, 1.61, 1.24, 0.75); II 4.10(1.17, 0.24, 1.16, 0.92, 0.61); III 3.47(0.98, 0.23, 0.89, 0.85, 0.52); IV 4.81(1.36, 0.23, 1.46, 1.14, 0.62). The chaetotaxy of all legs same as in male. Opisthosoma pale brown or pale yellow, ovoid, covered with hairs, distinctly crinkled posteriorly and deeper color.

Genital area covered with densely plumose long hairs. Internal genitalia consisting of a pair of kinkled spermathecae and sperm ducts, sclerotized distally stronger than proximally. The atrium broad and smooth, nearly semicircular, anterior margin nearly horizontal, with modified short hairs at middle pars.

Distribution. Known only from type locality.
