Type material: Holotype: male ( IZCAS), Dixian Cave (Alt.: 1280 m; T.: 15 ºC; H.: 92%), Guanping Village , Donghuang Town, Xishui County [28°17.535´N, 106°12.701´E, Guizhou, China], 8 May 2007, Y.C. Lin and J. Liu leg. GoogleMaps Paratypes: 33 males and 57 females, same data as holotype ( IZCAS) GoogleMaps .

Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin word “ palmatus ” (= like a palm), in reference to the shape of median apophysis on the male pedipalpal bulb. Adjective.

Diagnosis. The new species is similar to Leptonetela kanellisi ( Deeleman-Reinhold, 1971) , but may be distinguished from the latter by the presence of palm-shaped median apophysis, the asymmetrically bifurcate spur I on pedipalpal tibia, the sharp triangle embolus, the thinner and shorter tibial spurs II and III on pedipalp.

Description. Holotype male. Total length 2.10. Prosoma 0.96 long, 0.88 wide. Sternum 0.62 long, 0.60 wide. Opisthosoma 1.10 long, 0.96 wide. Dorsal shield of prosoma brown yellow, short setae along anterior margin of clypeus, a pair of long setae on anterolateral area of PME. Thoracic median groove fuscous, needleshaped, with one seta anteriorly. Cervical groove and radial furrows distinct, brown. Clypeus 0.20 high, slightly sloped anteriorly. Six eyes ovoid, on black bases. Eye sizes: ALE 0.08, PLE 0.08, PME 0.06; ALE- ALE 0.02, ALE-PME 0.10, PLE-PLE 0.11, PLE-PME 0.04, AER 0.17, PER 0.23. Major axes of PLE convergent posteriorly, median axes of PME parallel. Chelicerae yellowish brown, longer than endites in length, fang furrow with 8 promarginal and 5 retromarginal teeth. Endites and labium brown yellow, sternum greyish brown, legs yellow. Leg measurements: I 9.58 (2.60, 0.38, 2.95, 2.20, 1.45); II 7.40 (2.10, 0.35, 2.15, 1.65, 1.15); III 6.06 (1.65, 0.33, 1.70, 1.43, 0.95); IV 7.93 (2.25, 0.35, 2.28, 1.90, 1.15). Leg formula: I-IV-II- III. Only one spine on femur I. A dorsal spine at each patella distally. All tibiae modified by 4 trichobothria and 2 long spines. One finely serrated hairs-comb at ventral base of metatarsi II and III respectively. Opisthosoma pale purple, with pigmental spots, ovoid, covered with hairs, distinctly crinkled posteriorly.

Pedipalpal femur with 5 long setae ventrally. A dorsal spine on patella distally. Three dorsal trichobothria and 5 retrolateral spurs modified pedipalpal tibia. The tibial spur I largest, asymmetrically bifurcated distally. Pedipalpal tarsus crinkled and contracted mesially, appending a retrolateral earlobe-shaped process, 5 distal and a ventral setae modified tarsus. Pedipalpal bulb ovoid, smooth. Embolus triangular in prolateral view, broad basally and sharp distally. Conductor rugose, undeveloped. Median apophysis palm-shaped in ventral view, sclerotized distinctly.

Female. General features similar to male, but body size larger and legs shorter. Total length 2.20. Prosoma 0.96 long, 0.88 wide. Sternum 0.56 long, 0.44 wide. Opisthosoma 1.38 long, 1.10 wide. Clypeus 0.18 high. Six eyes with black rings. Eye sizes: ALE 0.08, PLE 0.08, PME 0.06; ALE-ALE 0.03, PLE-PLE 0.12; AER 0.15, PER 0.10. Chelicerae brown yellow, fang furrow with 8 promarginal and 5 retromarginal teeth. Endites and labium pale brown, sternum and legs yellow. Leg measurements: I 8.25 (2.25, 0.35, 2.50, 1.85, 1.30); II 6.50 (1.85, 0.33, 1.88, 1.40, 1.10); III 5.50 (1.60, 0.30, 1.50, 1.25, 0.85); IV 7.03 (2.00, 0.33, 2.00, 1.65, 1.05). Leg formula: I-IV-II-III. The chaetotaxy and trichobothria of each leg same as in male.

Genital area covered with plumose long hairs. Internal genitalia with a pair of spiral spermathecae and sperm ducts, sclerotized weakly. The atrium wide, smooth anteriorly and rugose posteriorly, lacking short hairs anteriorly. Postromargin of atrium aparted a distance from epigastric furrow.

Distribution. Known only from type locality.
