Oviparous female —description (n = 11)

Colour in life: unknown. Pigmentation on slide: head sclerotized, brown; ANT brown except basal part of ANT III which is slightly paler; thorax membranous, pale; all part of the legs brown with paler proximal parts of femora; abdomen membranous, pale; SIPH brown to dark brown, cauda, anal and genital plate brown ( Fig. 2a View FIGURE 2 ).

Morphometric characters: HW 0.49–0.55 × ANT. Head with short to medium fine setae with slightly narrow capitate apices, 0.012 –0.042 mm long. ANT tubercles low, each with 1–2 setae on internal surface. More or less developed median frontal tubercle is present with 4 setae which are the longest ones. Compound eyes small, composed from only 22-24 ommatidia ( Fig. 2a View FIGURE 2 ). ANT five-segmented, 0.44–0.55 × BL ( Fig. 3a View FIGURE 3 ). PT 2.66–2.78 × BASE. Other antennal ratios: V: III 1.34 1.65 , IV:III 0.63–0.68, PT:III 0.97–1.21, PT:IV 1.53–1.77. ANT chaetotaxy: ANT bearing only few short, fine or slightly rigid setae with pointed or slightly narrow capitate apices. ANT III setae 0.010 –0.012 mm long, LS ANT III 0.56–0.70 × BD III. ANT I with 4–5, ANT II with 3–4, ANT III with 4–6, ANT IV with 3, ANT V with 2 basal, and 4 apical setae. Rostrum short, reaching middle coxae. URS 0.40–0.50 × ANT III, 0.30–0.32 × ANT V, 0.41–0.45 × PT, 1.12–1.20 × BASE and 1.12–1.50 × HT II with 2 fine and pointed accessory setae ( Fig. 3b View FIGURE 3 ). III FEMORA has medium-length to long, fine setae with pointed apices, 0.020 –0.045 mm long. III TIBIAE swollen especially in the proximal part, with 40–63 mostly rounded or slightly oval and also mostly fused scent plaques (pseudosensoria) on the whole surface and mostly in the proximal half ( Fig. 3c, d View FIGURE 3 ). Setae on III TIBIAE long, fine and pointed, 0.025 –0.065 mm long. HT I with 3:3:3 setae, HT II 0.30–0.37 × ANT III, 0.21–0.27 × ANT VI, 0.30–0.37 × PT and 0.80–1.00 × BASE. Abdomen membranous with elongate marginal tubercles on ABD I-(ABD II)-(ABD III)-ABD IV-(ABD VI)-ABD VII ( Fig. 3e View FIGURE 3 ). Abdominal setae medium in length in the spinal and pleural area and long in the marginal area ( Fig. 3f, g View FIGURE 3 ), fine and pointed, 0.013 –0.025 mm long on ABD TERG I–V and 0.040 –0.055 mm long on ABD TERG VI–VIII. ABD VIII with 6–8 setae. SIPH very short, tapering, without reticulation and with well-developed wide flange ( Fig. 3g View FIGURE 3 ). SIPH 0.55–0.81 × cauda, 0.03–0.04 × BL and 0.31–0.32 × ANT III. Genital plate with numerous setae ( Fig. 3h View FIGURE 3 ). Cauda short with rounded apex, 0.88–1.12 × its width at base and 0.05–0.06 × BL with 10–12 fine and pointed setae ( Fig. 3i View FIGURE 3 ).

Holman leg., 00HO211(2), IECA ; 2 oviparous females, 00HO211(3), IECA; 2 oviparous females, 00HO211(4), IECA; 2 oviparous females, 00HO211(5), IECA; 2 oviparous females, 00HO211(6), IECA; 1 oviparous female, 1 apterous viviparous female, 00HO211(7), IECA.

Intermediate male —description (n =12)

Remarks: As the males represent uncommon features of apterous and alate morphs (sclerotized and welldeveloped thorax), we use the term intermediate male. This morph can not be named apterous as the thorax is developed as in alate morphs (males and viviparous females) but on the other hand, the lack of wings or wing buds also does not allow to use of the term brachypterous.

Colour in life: unknown. Pigmentation on slide: head sclerotized, dark brown; ANT brown except very basal part of ANT III which is slightly paler; thorax developed as in alate morphs, sclerotized, brown, without wings or wings-buds. Femora brown with slightly paler proximal parts, tibiae brown with slightly paler middle section, tarsi brown. Abdomen pale with brown sclerotization, SIPH brown, genitalia and cauda brown ( Fig. 2b View FIGURE 2 ).

HW 0.31–0.35 × ANT. Head with short to medium fine setae with slightly narrow capitate apices, 0.012–0.037 mm long. Compound eyes normal, large, composed from numerous ommatidia. ANT tubercles low, each with 2 setae on internal surface. More or less developed median frontal tubercle is present with 4 setae which are the longest ones. ANT six-segmented, 0.76–0.85 × BL ( Fig. 4b View FIGURE 4 ). ANT III with 12–15 small, rounded secondary rhinaria on the whole length ( Fig. 4b View FIGURE 4 ), ANT IV shorter or as long as ANT V with 7–9 secondary rhinaria on the whole length ( Fig. 4c View FIGURE 4 ), ANT V with 4–6 rhinaria ( Fig. 4d View FIGURE 4 ). PT 2.55–2.73 × BASE. Other antennal ratios: VI: III 1.39 1.67 , V: III 0.69–0.82, IV: III 0.65–0.86, PT: III 1.00–1.21, PT: V 1.43 1.47 , PT:IV 1.36–1.55. ANT chaetotaxy: ANT bearing only few short, fine or slightly rigid setae with pointed or slightly narrow capitate apices.ANT III setae 0.011–0.015 mm long, LS ANT III 0.88–1.00 × BD III. ANT I with 5–6, ANT II with 3–4, ANT III with 3–4, ANT IV with 3–4, ANT V with 5, ANT VI with 2 basal, and 4 apical setae. Rostrum reaching mesosternum. URS 0.32–0.38 × ANT III, 0.22–0.23 × ANT VI, 0.30–0.32 × PT, 0.80–0.89 × BASE and 0.88–1.00 × HT II with 2 fine and pointed accessory setae ( Fig. 3e View FIGURE 3 ). III FEMORA has medium-length to long, fine setae with pointed apices, 0.015–0.042 mm long. III TIBIAE with long, fine and pointed setae, 0.020–0.050 mm long. HT I with 3:3:3 setae, HT II 0.36–0.39 × ANT III, 0.23–0.26 × ANT VI, 0.32–0.36 × PT and 0.85–0.94 × BASE. Abdomen membranous with spinal sclerotic bars on ABD III – VI and elongate marginal tubercles on ABD I– VII ( Fig. 4f, g View FIGURE 4 ). Abdominal setae medium in length in the spinal and pleural area and long in the marginal area ( Fig. 3f, g View FIGURE 3 ), fine and pointed, 0.015–0.040 mm long on ABD TERG I– V and 0.020–0.047 mm long on ABD TERG VI – VIII. ABD VIII with 2–3 setae. SIPH very short, tubular, only slightly tapering, without reticulation and with well-developed flange. SIPH 0.80–0.84 × cauda, 0.04 × BL and 0.23–0.26 × ANT III. Cauda short with rounded apex, 0.86–1.00 × its width at base and 0.05 × BL with 8–9 fine and pointed setae. Genitalia with two separate, robust parameres, which are almost fused near the proximal part. Basal part of the phallus wider near the base than in the apical part. The genital capsule surrounded with sclerotized collar ( Fig. 4h View FIGURE 4 ).
