Rosa indica View in CoL , spec. nov.

9. Rosa subinermis, foliolis quinis subtus tomentosis: impari majori, stipulis obsoletis.

Rosa chusan glabra, juniperi fructu. Pet. gaz. 56. t. 35. f.11.

Habitat in China. ♄

Rami inermes; rarius armati una alterave spina tenuissima versus folia vel in petiolis. Folia pinnata: Foliolis quinis, subtus tomentosis, supra glabris, serratis: extimo duplo majore. Pedunculi longi, nudi, simplices. Calyx incisus, laevis. Fructus magnitudine Sorbi aucupariae. Species Rosarum difficile distingvuntur, difficilius determinantur; mihi videtur naturam miscuisse plures vel lusu ex uno plures formasse; hinc qui paucas vidit species facilius eas distinguit, quam qui plures examinavit.
