Selenocephalus darei Dlab. : Mirzayans et al. (1976) published this name based on a paratype in the Hayk Mirzayans Insect Museum before the species was formally described by Dlabola (1981). Recorded distribution in Iran: Southwest.
Comments: The species is considered endemic to Iran.
