Generic assignment. Basing on antennal structure (anntennomeres 7th to 11th transverse), mentum (median part narrow), anterior angles of pronotum (“moderately protruding anteriad”), male abdominal ventrites (without tubercles), and the bordered 5th ventrite this species was classified within the genus Pseudoselinus ( Iwan & Banaszkiewicz 2005). This taxonomic decision modified Iwan`s (2002a) primary concept of the genus Pseudoselinus, since A. elevatus was the only species without the characteristic longitudinal sclerite in bursa copulatix. The present study shows that the genus Angolositus is closely related to Pseudoselinus by having a similar structure of the antenna, pronotum, and abdominal ventrites, but can be easily distinguished by the characteristic mentum structure ( Figs 5, 6 View FIGURES 1 – 7 ). The new interpretation of the genus Angolositus seems to be more suitable for the A. elevatus . Therefore, this species is transferred into the genus Angolositus. This taxonomic decision affects the concept of the genus Pseudoselinus, which now can be also defined by the presence of longitudinal sclerite in the bursa copulatix (absent in other Platynotina species) (eg. Fig. 7 View FIGURES 1 – 7 ).
Distribution. This species has been collected in the following ecoregions: northern and southern Acacia- Commiphora bushlands and thickets, northern Zanzibar-Inhambane coastal forest mosaic ( Fig. 28 View FIGURES 28 – 29 ).
