( Figs 14 View FIGURES 10‒14 a–b, 27, 40)

Stathmopoda tecticochlea Terada, 2016:88 . TL: Japan.

Material examined. CHINA, Hainan: 1♂, Hongkan (19.08°N, 109.5°E), Yinggeling , 540 m, 24.VII.2015, leg. QY Wang et al., slide No. GW 15048 GoogleMaps ; 1♀, Hongkan, Yinggeling , 508 m, 17.VI.2015, leg. PX Cong et al., slide No. GW 15047 .

Diagnosis. This species is diagnostic by having a narrow triangular gnathos, a sub-quadrate cucullus and an aedeagus with two narrowly sclerotized bars in the male genitalia; and a small sub-quadrate antrum and a slenderly arched signum in the female genitalia. It is similar to S. basirotata sp. nov., and the differences between them are stated in the diagnosis of the latter species.

Description. Adult ( Figs 14 View FIGURES 10‒14 a–b). Wingspan 9.0– 9.5 mm. Head with frons ochreous grey, vertex silvery grey, with metallic lustre, occiput silvery grey medially, purplish black laterally. Labial palpus with second segment silvery white on inner surface, pale yellow on outer surface; third segment silvery grey on inner surface, dark brown on outer surface. Antenna purplish black, with metallic lustre; flagellum silvery white in distal 1/6 dorsally. Thorax silvery grey, with a longitudinal ochreous yellow streak posterolaterally; tegula greyish brown. Forewing with ground colour silvery grey in basal 2/3, dark brown in distal 1/3, with purplish pink scales, with metallic lustre; costal margin with black spot at base and middle respectively, with a fine ochreous yellow streak from beyond middle to distal 1/3; large ochreous U-shaped marking from basal 1/6 to 2/5, its upper arm along costal margin, uniformly wide, its lower arm narrowed from above ventral margin to posterior margin of cell; wide ochreous yellow streak from outer margin of large marking straight to distal 1/3, edged with black scales in basal half on lower margin; ochreous yellow streak from end of fold to distal 1/3 of ventral margin, diffused to preceding streak basally or medially; fringe dark brown. Hindwing and fringe brown. Fore femur greyish brown, tibia and tarsus purplish brown; mid femur greyish brown, tibia dark brown, ochreous at middle, tarsus greyish brown; hindleg blackish grey, tibia ochreous in basal half, with long ochreous brown bristles at middle and apex, tarsus with ochreous bristles at apices of basal three tarsomeres, greyish white on distal two tarsomeres. Abdomen brown on dorsal surface, greyish white on ventral surface.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 21‒27 ). Uncus wide at base, slightly narrowed to apex, with long setae laterally, apically with two spines curving ventrad. Gnathos narrow triangular, truncate at apex, approximately 3/4 length of uncus. Tegumen with height approximately 1.5 times length of uncus, posterior 2/3 almost uniformly wide, anterior 1/3 circular, sclerotized. Valva narrow at base, widened toward apex; cucullus sub-quadrate, truncate at apex; inner process stout, horn-shaped; costa produced triangularly; sacculus broad basally, gradually narrowed to basal 2/3, almost uniform in distal 1/3, ventral margin straight in basal 2/3, obtuse in distal 1/3. Vinculum narrowly banded; saccus bifurcate anteriorly, approximately 1/3 length of uncus. Juxta pointed anteromedially, straight on posterior margin. Aedeagus roundly inflated in basal 1/4, narrowly cylindrical in distal 3/4, spear-shaped apically, with a sclerotized plate at base, with two narrowly sclerotized bars: one very long, extending obliquely upward from near bottom of rounded basal part, coiled twice around basal part, then extending to preapex, another extended obliquely upward from middle of rounded basal part, splited into two from middle, then downcurved to apex.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 40 View FIGURES 37‒40 ). Intersegmental membrane between papillae anales and eighth abdominal segment approximately 12 times length of papillae anales. Eighth segment sub-rectangular, with clustered denticles anteriorly. Intersegmental membrane between seventh and eighth segments approximately same length as eighth segment. Antrum sub-quadrate, relatively small. Ductus bursae membraneous, approximately same length as corpus bursae. Corpus bursae elongate elliptical, narrowed before anterior 1/3; signum slender, slightly arched, placed at posterior 1/3, length more than half of maximum width of corpus bursae. Ductus seminalis originating from near anterior end of ductus bursae. Appendix bursae rounded, arising from anterior part of corpus bursae.

Distribution. China (Hainan); Japan.
