Note.
See Smetana (1982) for identification. This very characteristic and large xantholinine beetle was accidentally introduced to North America from Europe in the 19th century and is now found in both the western and eastern parts of North America ( Smetana 1982). We report here the first occurrences of this species in the province of Quebec.
