† Ectenobythus Engel et al., 2013
The genus was described from inclusions in Albian Spanish amber, with a single included species, † Ectenobythus iberiensis . Based on figure 1 of Engel et al. (2013), we can state that the holotype and paratype belong to distinct clades. The holotype has a long scape, fusiform profemur, long pronotum (hiding the propleura in dorsal view), short propodeum (judging from the relative position of the meso- and metacoxae), posterior portion of metasoma abruptly narrowed and protruding. These characters, together with the reduced forewing venation, indicate that this genus can unequivocally be placed in Chrysididae View in CoL .
