† Sphakelobythus Engel et al., 2013
The genus was described from inclusions in Campanian Canadian amber, containing only the type species, † Sphakelobythus limnopous Engel et al., 2013 . It also belongs in Chrysididae View in CoL , judging from the general morphology and reduced forewing venation. The large eyes, anterior pronotal flange covering the propleura, fusiform profemur, and elongated basal segments of the metasoma are the main features indicating this positioning.
