Genus Lasiopogon Loew View in CoL View at ENA

Lasiopogon Loew, 1847: 508 View in CoL (as a subgenus of Dasypogon Meigen, 1803 View in CoL ). Type species: Dasypogon (Lasiopogon) pilosellus Loew, 1847 View in CoL .

Daulopogon Loew, 1874: 377 .

Alexiopogon Curran, 1934: 183.

Species of the genus Lasiopogon are characterized by their wing venation (without a stalked cell m3) ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1 – 6. 1 ), high, prominent facial gibbosity ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 6. 1 ) and widely divided, pendulous epandrial lobes ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1 – 6. 1 ), characters which easily separate them from the genus Stichopogon . Cannings (2002) includes use of the posterior coxal peg, a character which does not pertain to any of our South Korean species.

In his comprehensive work on the systematics of the genus Lasiopogon, Cannings (2002) lists 16 related species from the eastern Palaearctic.
