Subgenus Parascolelepis Maciolek, 1987 View in CoL
Diagnosis of the genus. Prostomium pointed anteriorly, extending posteriorly into caruncle; occipital antennae present or absent. Peristomium well-developed, with or without lateral wings. Palps without ciliated groove, but with transverse ciliary bands; basal sheaths usually well-developed, with or without papillae. Branchiae from chaetiger 2; anterior branchiae complete or partially fused to notopodial lamellae. Hooks in neuropodia present; multidentate with several apical teeth above main fang, with strongly curved shaft. Hooks in notopodia absent. Pygidium with oval disc or multilobed.
