Leptopsylla (Leptopsylla) segnis (Schönherr, 1811) View in CoL
Material examined— Hidalgo Tenancingo, coll./det. A. Dampf, 2 males, 2 females.
Remarks—Found primarily on M. musculus , it has been recorded only in the states of Distrito Federal, Mexico and Guanajuato. This species has been implicated as a vector of murine typhus. Leptopsylla segnis is undoubtedly more widely spread in Mexico than indicated by available records; there is a need for future surveillance.
