Mesilla Simon 1903: 30 View in CoL , type species: M. vittiventris Simon 1903:30 View in CoL ; Brescovit 1997: 64, figs 146−151.
Diagnosis. Mesilla species are similar to those of Macrophyes species by having elongated and thin body; long and thin legs; median apophysis on anterior side of the tegulum and by having a large retrolateral, marginal tooth on distal side of chelicerae, but can been distinguished by the long and laminar median apophysis; ventral tegular projection absent and long embolus basally inserted on the tegulum ( Figs 3 View FIGURE 3 C−E). Females are characterized by their short copulatory ducts, restricted to the posterior portion of the epigynum and with small, tubular seminal receptacles on medial region; long, wide, divergent lateral borders, with rounded apex ( Brescovit 1992: 12, 13; 1997: figs 150−151; Figs 3G, H View FIGURE 3 ).
