TYPE LOCALITY: Australia, Western Australia, Bernier Island (Shark Bay) .
DISTRIBUTION: Survives only on Bernier and Dorre Isis (Western Australia); formerly in SW Western Australia, perhaps South Australia.
STATUS: CITES - Appendix I; U.S. ESA - Endangered; IUCN - Rare.
SYNONYMS: albipilis, elegans , striatus.
