TYPE LOCALITY: Australia, Northern Territory, Port Essington .
DISTRIBUTION: NE Western Australia, Northern Territory, Queensland; S New Guinea; Kiriwina Isis and other islands off the SE coast of New Guinea.
STATUS: Common.
SYNONYMS: aurantiacus, aurescens, binoe, crassipes , jardinii, nigrescens, papuanus , siva.
COMMENTS: Subgenus Notamacropus .
