Distribution: China ( Taiwan).
Michalowskiya (Michalowskiya) aurantiaca sp. nov. (Figures 2, 9, 16, 83–87)
Body small, sandy beige. Vertex length subequal to that of pronotum. Some irregularly shaped brown patches on pronotum and semicircular orange patch at posterior margin; scutum yellowish-brown with blackish patch centrally, scutellum dark brown. Fore wing orange in basal 2/5 and semitransparent at apex, small brown spot at base of 1st and 3rd apical cells, hind wing semitransparent.
Male genitalia: Pygofer lobe abruptly narrowed and digitiform apically with several stout preapical setae. Subgenital plate subtriangular with numerous distinct microtrichia, lateral with ~5 macrosetae. Connective Ushaped with stem weakly developed. Paramere with central lobe slightly broadened?apodeme broadened and apical part long. Penis short and abruptly curved and slightly expanded apically, basal processes slightly longer than stem.
Measurements: Male 3.50 mm (including wing); Female 3.53 mm (including wing).
Material examined: Holotype: male (NWAFU), Xinzhu, Yunnan Prov., 2500m, 15 Nov. 1999, coll. Dworakowska; Paratype: 3 males 15 females (NWAFU), same data as holotype; 1 female (NWAFU), Xinzhu, Yunnan Prov., 2500m, 16 Nov. 1999, coll. Dworakowska.
Remarks: This species differs from all others of the genus by the coloration of base of the fore wing and the short penis stem.
Etymology: The specific epithet is derived from the English word “ aurantiaceous ” referring to the color of the base of the fore wing.
Michalowskiya (Michalowskiya) biprocessa sp. nov. (Figures 3, 10, 17, 89–94)
Body yellow. Vertex 3/5 length of pronotum, yellowish-brown centrally. Pronotum dark brown, scutum brownish with three brownish-black patches, scutellum dark brown. Fore wing fawn and brochosome field whitish, hind wing semitransparent.
Male genitalia: Pygofer quadrilateral with small dorsal preapical spine and another small apical projection, stout setae arranged in two groups, one preapical and one apical, several gracile microsetae present in basal half. Subgenital plate subtriangular, blunt at apex, with row of 5 macrosetae and several additional shorter setae along outer margin. Connective Y-shaped, stem short. Paramere with central lobe forming rightangle, apical part long, apodeme slender, apex tapered and hooklike with preapical tooth. Penis in lateral view expanded at apex, with basal processes lamellate, and with second pair of slender basal processes extended along stem, both shorter than stem.
Measurements: Male 3.75 mm (including wing); Female 4.00– 4.05 mm (including wing).
Material examined: Holotype: male (CAU), Jianyang, Fujian Prov., 29 Oct. 1974, coll. Li Fasheng; Paratype: 1 female (CAU), Jianyang, Fujian Prov., 26 Oct. 1974, coll. Li Fasheng; 3 females (CAU), same data as holotype.
Remarks: This species is similar to M. quadrispina (Dworakowska 1993: 102, 105) but differs by the shape of pygofer, and by absence of a pair of small sclerotized processes on the penis stem subapically.
Etymology: The specific epithet is derived from the Latin prefix “ bi- ” and Latin word “ processus ” referring to the two pairs of penis processes.
Michalowskiya (Michalowskiya) breviprocessa sp. nov. (Figures 4, 11, 18, 95–102)
Body yellow. Vertex half length of pronotum, yellowish-brown with four oval cream-colored patches. Pronotum margin cream-colored with several small irregularly shaped patches and brown centrally, scutum yellowish-brown, scutellum cream-colored with a brown patch. Fore wing fawn, hind wing semitransparent.
Male genitalia: Pygofer tapering apically with a small upper process, with some microsetae scattered. Subgenital plate subtriangular, with ~7 macrosetae and some smaller setae along outer margin. Connective Vshaped with stem poorly developed. Paramere with central lobe irregularly rounded, apical part long, apodeme slender, apex hook-like. Penis in lateral view with stem sinuate, fan-shaped at apex, basal processes tapered, 2/3 length of stem.
Measurements: Male 3.50–3.80 mm (including wing); Female 3.55–3.60 mm (including wing).

Remarks: This species differs from all others of the genus by the fan-shaped penis apex and the shortest basal processes.
Etymology: The specific epithet is derived from the Latin words “ brevis ” and “ processus ”, referring to the short basal penis processes.
Michalowskiya (Michalowskiya) brownistriata sp. nov. (Figures 5, 12, 19, 103–109)
Body yellow. Vertex 2/3 length of pronotum, yellow with cream-colored patches. Pronotum yellow with a big yellowish-brown patch, scutum brown, scutellum black brown. Fore wing fawn with brown transverse band subapically, hind wing semitransparent.
Male genitalia: Pygofer abruptly tapered apically with group of few stout microsetae. Subgenital plate subtriangular with numerous sculpture, blunt at apex, with row of ~8 macrosetae along outer margin and scattered smaller setae. Connective V-shaped, stem weakly developed. Paramere slim, central lobe absent, apical part long and apodeme slender. Penis in lateral view slightly expanded at apex, basal processes slim, as long as stem.
Measurements: Male 3.35–3.50 mm (including wing); Female 3.40 mm (including wing).
Material examined: Holotype: male (CAU), Jianyang, Fujian Prov., 26 Oct. 1974, coll. Li Fasheng; Paratype: 7 females (CAU), same data as holotype.
Remarks: Thhis species is similar to M. lutea (Dworakowska 1972: 123, 124) but differs by the absence of a pygofer dorsal lobe and the basal penis processes slim and equal in length to the stem. Etymology: The specific epithet is derived from the English words “ brown ” and “ striate ”, referring to the brown transverse band on the fore wing.
Michalowskiya (Michalowskiya) longiprocessa sp. nov. (Figures 6, 13, 20, 110–114)
Body yellow. Vertex 3/5 length of pronotum, yellowish-brown with two big yellow patches. Pronotum, scutum and scutellum yellowish-brown, several yellow patches scattered. Fore wing yellow, hind wing semitransparent.
Male genitalia: Pygofer with long, slender, decurved process at hind upper angle; stout setae arranged in single group preapically. Subgenital plate subtriangular, with a row of ~7 macrosetae along outer margin and few smaller setae, blunt at apex. Connective V-shaped, stem poorly developed. Paramere with central lobe moderately broad, apical part long and apodeme slightly pedate. Penis in lateral view with short dorsal projection near base of stem, in posterior view with stem abruptly widened near midlength, basal processes slim, longer than stem.
Measurement: Male 3.75 mm (including wing).
Material examined: Holotype: male (NWAFU), Emeishan, Sichuan Prov., 1700m, 31 Oct. 1999, coll. Dworakowska.
Remarks: Thisdiffers from all others of the genus by the long process at hind upper angle of pygofer, penis expanded centrally and basal processes very long.
Etymology: The specific epithet is derived from the Latin words “ longi ” and “ processa ”, referring to the long basal penis processes.
Michalowskiya (Michalowskiya) pedata sp. nov. (Figures 7, 14, 21, 115–120)
Body yellow. Vertex 3/5 length of pronotum, yellowish-brown with whitish patches. Pronotum margin whitish with several small irregularly shaped yellowish-brown patches and yellowish-brown centrally, scutum yellowish-brown, scutellum dark brown. Fore wing fawn with L-shaped brown patch in midlength, hind wing semitransparent.
Male genitalia: Pygofer dorsal margin with small preapical tooth and emarginated distal process, with irregular arcuate row of stout setae. Subgenital plate subtriangular, with a row of ~6 macrosetae along outer margin. Connective Y-shaped, stem short. Paramere central lobe broad and angulate, apical part short and apodeme pedate. Penis stem compressed laterally and sinuate, with a pair of short slender processes arising near midlength, basal processes slim, shorter than stem.
Measurement: Male 3.70 mm (including wing).
Material examined: Holotype: male (NWAFU), Kunming, Yunnan Prov., 21 March 1982, coll. Wang Sumei, Zhou Jingruo.
Remarks: This species differs from all others of the genus by the relatively short apical extension and pedate base of the paramere, and the pair of small processes near the midlength of the penis.
Etymology: The specific epithet is derived from the Latin word “ pedatus ”, referring to the pedate paramere apodeme.
