Amphileptus punctatus View in CoL — Tirjaková 1998: 15; Tirjaková 2003a: 36.

Main morphological characters (according to Foissner 1984 and Foissner et al. 1995). Size 100–150 × 35– 55 µm in vivo. Body broadly drop-like, posteriorly broadly rounded. Two macronuclear nodules with a single micronucleus in between. Contractile vacuole ventral and subterminal. Extrusomes ovate, 3 × 1.5 µm in size, scattered in cytoplasm of anterior body region and attached to anterior portion of oral bulge. Somatic ciliary pattern Amphileptus -like; about 18–25 right and 4–6 left kineties.

Distribution. Amphileptus punctatus was found in the benthos of the Hron River ( Tirjaková 1998) and of the Gidra River ( Tirjaková 2003a).

Notes. Records of A. punctatus in the territory of Slovakia ( Tirjaková 1998, 2003a) are questioned due to the taxonomic difficulties and lack of illustrations or microphotographs. For further details, see Issue 2 in ‘Notes and discussion on the checklist’.
