Maba humbertii H.Perrier (as “ humberti ”), Mémoires de l’Institut scientifique de Madagascar, sér. B, 4: 107. 1952, syn. nov. — Lectotype (here designated): Decary 10898 (P! [ P00573580 ]; iso-, K!, MO!, P! [ P00573581 ], TEF!).
Of the two sheets of Commerson s.n. in the Paris herbarium, we have selected the one with both mature fruit and the characteristic hairy calyx in flower as the lectotype of Diospyros lanceolata Poir. Decary 10898 is here chosen as the lectotype of Maba humbertii H.Perrier instead of the other syntypes (Decary 9455, Humbert 13797, Humbert 14049, Seyrig 377) because it possesses fruit and has widely distributed duplicates.
