Mémoires de l’Institut scientifique de Madagascar, sér. B, 4: 117 (1952). — Lectotype (here designated): Humbert 6826 ( P! [ P00573529 ]; iso-, BR!, G!, K!, MO!, NY!, P! [ P00573530 ], PRE!, TAN!, TEF!).
Humbert 6826 is here chosen as the lectotype of Diospyros danguyana H.Perrier instead of the other syntypes ( Humbert 11635, Humbert 12731, Perrier 3008, Seyrig 799) because it possesses female flowers and fruit and has widely distributed duplicates.
