Mémoires de l’Institut scientifique de Madagascar, sér. B, 4: 138 (1952). — Lectotype (here designated): Perrier 2333 ( P![ P00573499 ]; iso-, P! [ P00573500 ]).
Perrier 2333 is here chosen as the lectotype of Diospyros filipes H.Perrier instead of the other syntypes (Decary 5364, Decary 5622, Decary 5624, Decary 5730, Decary 5767) because it possesses mature fruit and male flowers.
