Taxonomic remarks. Clubiona filicata Pickard-Cambridge, 1874 was originally described from adult specimens of each sex from Bombay ( Mumbai), India. Thorell (1887) published later his first article in a series of publications on the Burmese spiders; he included a description of C. distincta Thorell, 1887 which was based on a holotype female collected from Karin Hills, district of the Bia-po or Cheba (1,000–1,200 m) ( Figs 29 View FIGURES 25 – 30 , 31–33 View FIGURES 31 – 33 ). No significant genitalic differences were found between the female type of C. distincta and that of C. filicata . Therefore, Clubiona distincta Thorell, 1887 is proposed a junior synonym of C. filicata Pickard-Cambridge, 1874 . Thorell also examined conspecific male and female from Mandalay and identified them as C. distincta ? ( Figs 28, 30 View FIGURES 25 – 30 ). Both specimens belong to C. filicata and agree well with the original description given by Pickard-Cambridge (1874). Subsequent publications providing illustrations of both sexes from various localities ( Biswas & Raychaudhuri 1996; Majumder & Tikader 1991; Song, Zhu & Chen 1999) together with the recently obtained material consisting of male and female collected from the same locality at the same time have confirmed and highlighted that the designated adults are true conspecific.
