Description of holotype. The specimen cut in two pieces. Length altogether 62 mm, diameter 4 mm. Number of segments 126. Pigmentation greyish preserved. Prostomium epilobous ½ closed. First dorsal pore at intersegmental furrow 10/11. Setae distant, arrangement behind clitellum: aa: ab: bc: cd: dd = 1.5:1.07:1.07:1:2.8. Male pores minute on segment 15. Nephridial pores irregularly alternate between setal line b and above d. Clitellum on segments ¾24–¾30. Tubercula pubertatis on 25–29. Glandular tumescence on segments 8 ab, 10, 11 cd.
Dissepiments 6/7–11/12 slightly thickened. Testes and funnels free, paired in segments 10–11. Four pairs of seminal vesicles in 9–12. Two pairs of spermathecae with long stalks openings in setal line d in 9/10, 10/11. Calciferous glands in segment 10–12, without distinct diverticula. Last pair of hearts in 11, with a pair of extraesophageal vessels in 12. Nephridial bladders biscuit-shaped. Crop in segments 15–16, and gizzard in segments 17–18. Typhlosolis small, slightly biramous. The cross-section of the longitudinal muscle layer of pinnate type.
Description of additional material. Length 30–74 mm, diameter 3–5 mm. Number of segments 107–140. Pigmentation greyish preserved. Prostomium epilobous ½ closed. First dorsal pore at intersegmental furrow 10/11. Setae distant, arrangement behind clitellum: aa: ab: bc: cd: dd = 1.33:1.02:1.05:1:2.61. Male pores minute on segment 15. Nephridial pores irregularly alternate between setal line b and above d. Clitellum on segments ½24, 25–½30, 30.
Remarks. No morphological differences were observed between the holotype and the newly reported material from Iran and Uzbekistan. This species is a relatively large-bodied member of the D. byblica species complex lacking red pigmentation even when alive, it lives in the upper soil layer and belongs to the endogeic-polyhumic ecological category.
D. fedtschenkoi differs in its clitellum and tubercles (¾24, 25–½30, 30; 25–29 respectively) from D. sp. "Istranca" (cl. 25–30 and tb. 1/n25, 26–½29), D. daghestanensis (cl. 24–30 and tb. 26–29) and D. byblica (cl. 25– 30 and tb. 26–28). It also differs from D. daghestanensis and D. sp. in the number of the seminal vesicles (4 vs. 3 pairs) and from D. byblica with its body size (20–40 mm vs. 30–74 mm) ( Table 3, for more detailed descriptions of the byblica forms see Zicsi 1965 and Szederjesi et al. 2018).
