gen. nov.

Genus Trusmaditetrix Storozhenko , gen. nov.

Type species: Trusmaditetrix complanata sp. nov., here designated.

Description. Relatively large, length of pronotum 7–8 mm. Antennae 14–15-segmented. In lateral view, eyes not raised above pronotum. Lateral carinae of the frontal ridge almost parallel; ridge narrow, almost as wide as 1st antennal segment; bifurcation of ridge situated just below the lower margin of eyes. Pronotum strongly compressed, surpassing the apex of hind femora; in dorsal view anterior margin of pronotum straight; apex of posterior process of pronotum in dorsal view narrow and rounded. Median carina of pronotum low; interhumeral carinae and internal lateral carinae present. Hind margin of lateral lobe of the pronotum bisinuate. Tegmina and hind wings present. Lower side of fore and mid femora with lappets. Ovipositor short with dentate valves.

Differential diagnosis. The new genus is most similar to Planotettix in narrow frontal ridge (observed in P. planus , P. astrolabebayensis , and P. cyclopensis ) but latter genus is characterized by very small body (length of pronotum 3.1–4.9 mm), internal lateral carinae of pronotum and wings absent, and is known only from New Guinea. New genus also resembles Eurymorphopus from New Caledonia, but latter genus differs by broad frontal ridge, by lacking of tegmen and wings, and by present of a small median spine at the apex of posterior process of pronotum.

Composition. The genus consists of a type species only.

Etymology. The genus name refers to place of origin, Trus Madi Mountain, and generic name Tetrix . Gender feminine.
