Type material.
NHMUK 1905.1.26.29, holotype, Mrs. Mary Layard Barber ( née Bowker) (ex E.L. Layard ex Ponsonby).
Remarks.
The data on the collector and the way this specimen has found its way to the NHMUK collection have been taken from Herbert (2007). The size of the specimen was erroneously given as "length 11.5 mm".
Current systematic position.
Bothriembryontidae, Prestonella nuptialis (Melvill and Ponsonby, 1894).
