Description. Female. Measurements: Length of body 7.2 mm. Length of wing 6.5 mm.
Head. Frontal vitta yellow, matt; fronto-orbital plate yellow, whitish dusted. Ocellar triangle black. Face and parafacial yellow with whitish reflections. Gena and postcranium yellow. Setae: 1–2 orbitals, 4–5 frontals, 1 ocellar, 1 very long inner vertical, 1 outer vertical (approximately 0.5 times as long as inner vertical), 1 small postocellar; 1 pair of strong vibrissae and 2 pairs of subvibrissae present. Antenna yellow. Postpedicel rounded apically, approximately 2.5 times as long as wide. Arista yellow, pubescent in basal half. Palpus, clypeus and proboscis yellow. Palpus with a long apical seta.
Thorax yellow, thinly greyish dusted. Acrostichal hairs in two irregular rows, dorsocentrals 3+3 (first presutural short and directed anteriorly), intra-alars 0+1, supra-alars 1+2, 2 postpronotals, 2 notopleurals, 2 postalars. Proepisternum with black hairs and 2 strong black setae near ventral margin. Proepimeron with 1 strong black seta ventral to spiracle. Anepisternum with a few black hairs in posterior half and 4–5 black setae near posterior margin. Katepisternum with black hairs in ventral corner and 1 strong long black seta in posterodorsal corner. Anepimeron bare. Scutellum with a pair of strong lateral setae and a pair of apical setulae.
Legs completely yellow. Fore femur with rows of dorsal and posteroventral setae, and with 1 strong posterodorsal seta in basal third. Fore tibia with 2 posterodorsal, 2 anterodorsal, 2 posteroventral, 1 dorsal preapical and 2 posterior apical setae. Mid femur with a row of anterior setae and with 1 posterior apical seta, additionally with a long hair basally on ventral surface. Mid tibia with 2–3 anterodorsal, 2 posterodorsal, 2 posteroventral, 1 anteroventral setae, and with a ring of apicals. Hind femur with a row of anterodorsal setae, 2 posterior apical and 3–4 anteroventral setae in apical third, additionally with a long hair basally on ventral surface. Hind tibia with 3 posterodorsal, 3 anterodorsal, 2 anteroventral, 1 dorsal preapical setae, and apicals: posterior, anteroventral, and ventral.
Wing ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ) tinged with brownish; veins pale brown. Vein R2+3 with a brown spot apically. Intersection of vein M and crossvein dm-cu with a brown spot. Apex of wing darkened. Vein R1 setulose on apical third of dorsal surface. Calypters, including margins, and halter yellow.
Abdomen cylindrical, brownish, thinly greyish dusted. Syntergite 1+2 with 3–4 lateral discal and with row of marginal setae; tergites 3–6 each with a row of marginal setae.
Male. Unknown.
Etymology. The species is named in honour of the Russian dipterist Dr. Emilia Petrovna Nartshuk, the collector of holotype specimen, who has made substantial contributions to the study of Chloropidae .
Distribution. Russia: Primorskiy Kray.
Comparisons. The new species is characterized by a unique feature: the presence of brown spots on vein R2+3 apically and on the intersection of vein M and crossvein dm-cu ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ), which enables it to be easily distinguished from the other species of Cordilura .
Among the species registered in the Far East of Russia, C. nartshukae sp. nov. belongs to the group of species possessing the following characters: 1) scutellum with a pair of strong basal scutellar setae and a pair of short and thin (setulae-like) apical scutellar setae, 2) vein R1 setulose on apical third of dorsal surface, 3) fore coxae white or yellow, and 4) arista bare or shortly pubescent.
C. nartshukae sp. nov. can be distinguished from other species of this group as follows: 2. Vein R2+3 with a brown spot apically, intersection of vein M and crossvein dm-cu with a brown spot; apex of wing darkened ( Fig. View FIGURE 1
