Patellapis (Patellapis) montagui (Cockerell 1941) View in CoL

Halictus montagui Cockerell, 1941b: 527 .

( Figs. 18a–g View FIGURE 18 ; 19a–h View FIGURE 19 )

Diagnosis. The most similar species is P. pseudomontagui . The females of both species are unique in having the inner hind tibial spur coarsely serrate and the discs of metasomal terga T1–T3 more densely punctate than the rest of the terga (forming a transverse band of minute, dense punctures). The morphological characters to distinguish the females of both species are very subtile. The females of P. montagui differ from those of P. pseudomontagui in having the lower part of paraocular area more sparsely punctate, the scutum more densely punctate (i = d) and the vestiture of hind tibial scopae greyish (yellowish in P. pseudomontagui ). The males of P. montagui differ from those of P. pseudomontagui in the structure and size of the metasomal sternum S8, which is broad in size and deeply emarginated apically in P. pseudomontagui and longish in size and angulated apically in P. montagui .
