P. cincticauda View in CoL species-group
The females are characterised by the apically broadly rounded basitibial plate ( Fig. 12g View FIGURE 12 ). The males can be separated from other species-groups in having the gonostylus simple, the penis valves without a mediodorsally greatly expanded helmet-like crest, and the gonocoxae always polished and shiny ( Fig. 13g –h View FIGURE 13 ). P. doleritica , P. hakkiesdraadi , P. richtersveldi , and P. cincticauda closely resemble one another and are difficult to separate. They can be identified by the combinations of characters given in the diagnoses under each species. The males of P. montagui and P. pseudomontagui are very similar to one another in having the metasomal terga T1–T2 more densely punctate posteriorly than the rest of the terga. This character also occurs in the females of both species. P. impunctata is unique within this group in that the discs of metasomal terga T1–T3 are unpunctate. The P. cincticauda species-group comprises seven medium to large sized species: P. cincticauda , P. doleritica , P. hakkiesdraadi , P. impunctata , P. montagui , P. pseudomontagui and P. richtersveldi .
