Merodon sp ( View in CoL View at ENA equestris complex)
Material examined. Leg. K. Watt: 1♂, Moreda, Aula Naturaleza, 28.v.2012 [KW]. Leg. E.G. Hancock: 1♀, Formigueiros, 1639m, 29.v.2012 [HM].
Taxonomic notes. The two specimens obtained here are regarded as conspecific because of their morphological similarity. They clearly belong to the equestris group ( Marcos-García et al. 2011). They are not M. flavus because they have a conspicuous bulge in the metatibia and different male genitalia. Specimens are more similar to M. equestris and M. confusus . It might be that our two specimens belong to the same cryptic taxon referred to in Marcos-García et al. (2011) as intermediate confusus / equestris .
