Description

Head, prothorax and mesosternum orangish; elytra yellowish; antennae, scutellum, metasternum, metepisternum, and legs dark brown to black; abdominal segments 1– 4 black to brownish, and segment 5 brownish. Body with short, dense, yellow pubescence; punctation fine, dense and most evident on elytra. Antennae exceeding elytral apices by one segment in males, barely reaching elytral apices in females. Scape short, cylindrical, slightly shorter than segment 3; segment 3 1.5 times as long as 4; segments 5–7 similar-sized; segments 8–11 gradually shorter. Prothorax elongated, sides almost parallel, without tubercles. Pronotum without gibbosities. Elytra about five times as long as prothorax, with three longitudinal carinae. First segment of protarsi onethird longer than second; first segment of mesotarsi 1.5 times as long as the second; first segment of metatarsi 2.0 times as long as the second. Two last abdominal segments dorsally exposed.

Etymology. This species is named after Susana Freire Martinez de Monné, who collected one specimen of this new species.

Measurements in mm, holotype male/ paratype female. Total length, 10.4–16.5/9.8– 14.8; prothorax length, 1.5–1.9/1.5–1.7; prothorax width, 1.2–1.7/1.2–2.0; elytral length, 5.8–9.5/5.7–8.9; humeral width, 1.5–2.2/1.6–2.5.

Comments

This species differs from the others by the prothorax without tubercles, parallel at sides, and elytra yellowish. See other comments in the section on C. longissima .
